APIA and Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Inc. presents the third lunch series of the semester about sex and dating on Valentine’s Day from 11:45-12:45PM at Peabody Hall Room 411. We will be having an interesting discussion on each step of a relationship leading up to the topic that not many are comfortable in talking about – sex. APIA went there, and we will be having a speaker about sex and heath from the Gatorwell. Refreshments and chocolate will be served!

The Vietnamese Student Organization at UF invites you to celebrate Tet, otherwise known as the Lunar New Year! Tet is the most important holiday in Vietnamese culture and is all about getting together with friends and family to share warm wishes, pay respect to each other, share laughter, and enjoy good food.

Our Tet Show is VSO’s biggest event of the year! The year of 2012 is the Year of the Dragon which represents good fortune and strength. Invite all of your friends and family and enjoy a night of Vietnamese culture.

Performances include traditional and modern dancing, singing, skits, fashion shows, a lion dance, and much more that you will NOT WANT TO MISS!!

This event is totally free! There will also be FREE FOOD and REFRESHMENTS as well as LI XI (lucky money)!!

Come out to our 2nd Spring meeting as we assign you to your respective committee that will head an event for THE one and only **AASU WEEK**

Do NOT, I repeat NOT, miss this meeting if at all possible. Not only will you find out your event/committee, but you’ll meet the rest of your group whom you’ll be working with and even touch-base on preparing for your event.

Closing Ceremony applicants will soon find out their status of their applications! Invite all your friends to join in; you cannot run a week long of events by yourself. This is everyone’s chance to get involved and stay COMMITTED to FLP and AASU.

Sat– Mini-Conference; Learn about the behind-the-scenes work that goes into planning educational workshops and guest speaker presentations, as well as Asian American issues and how to raise awareness on these issues.

Sun–AASU Olympics; If you went out to AASU Field Day, you’ll know this Michael Fronda-led event will also be a hoot! Get excited to prepare a variety of exhilarating and mind-provoking games/activities as all AASU suborgs compete for the win!

Mon–Birthday Bash; AASU is turning 19! Our umbrella organization celebrates its birthday by honoring those most dedicated and hardworking to their suborgs. You’ll be helping coordinate decorations, awards, catering, programming and tech.

Tue–Gameshow Night; A new addition, this gameshow night will be lots of fun to plan as you will see what goes into planning a fun competition filled with competing mentor/mentee pairs!

Thu–Mystery Event; Stay tuned as we wrap up the details for this one. If you have any ideas, suggestions for this day, hit us up. We’d love to hear your input!

Fri–Closing Ceremony; This committee is based on applications. Learn what it takes to put on a large-scale production, as far as programming and working with special guest performances.

Sat–Block Party; Set outside on Reitz Colonnade/North Lawn, this event is also a never before seen one! Get the chance to work with AASU suborgs as well as the Black Student Union, Hispanic Student Association and the Pride Student Union. Games, cultural engagement and TONS of food entail!

Fred Korematsu’s resistance to this injustice and his rallying of supporting activists would insure that such an outright display of injustice would never occur again.

Please join APIA Affairs on Korematsu Day (Jan 30th) at 7PM in CSE E220 for the screening of this inspiring documentary. Refreshments will be provided!

Get ready for an exciting night of culture and fun where several cultural organizations will come together to teach you all how to speak their respective languages. Each organization will teach an introductory lesson followed by a series of vivacious skits that will put what you guys learn to the test. There will be a surprise guest speaker!

Come out to the last meeting of this semester to find out about Girls & Guys Night Out (GNO), a night of exclusive epicness and down right fun, and get excited about Semi-Formal 2011: Once Upon a Winter’s Night!

And most importantly, this time it won’t be your FSA Officers manning parts of the show, but your very own MAFFIA! We don’t know what they have up their sleeves, so be prepared to be blown away!

Semi-Formal tickets are on sale now and will be sold at the meeting for $12!

Ticket Prices:
Pre-sale tickets start this Monday in the AASU office (3rd floor Reitz) from 10am-2pm for $12 all week. Then price will increase the week of Semi-formal to $15!

Souvenirs:
Semi-Formal tradition is for there to be little gifts to buy and give to ates/kuyas/adings/friends/lovers as gifts during Semi-Formal. This year, they will be cute PLUSH SNOWMEN with a personalized message attached. THEY’RE ONLY $2! The semester is almost over, and we’re all scrambling around for upcoming finals, but before that, celebrate with us!
